In 1947 with Indian independence, the Golden Age of Indian Cinema dawned. The period between 1947 and 1961 was known as The Golde Age because it introduced new ideas and values without overlooking the fundamental characteristics of Indian cinema, a splendid combination of both old and new. ¹⁾
