Westworld is a science fiction Western television series produced in the United States.¹⁾

Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy created it.²⁾

It is based on Michael Crichton's 1973 film of the same name and, to a lesser extent, the film's 1976 sequel, Futureworld.³⁾

In an indeterminate future, Westworld, one of Delos Inc.'s six theme parks, offers visitors to experience the American Old West in an atmosphere filled by “hosts,” androids trained to please the guests' every wish.⁴⁾

Each episode lasts between 57 and 91 minutes.⁵⁾

Anthony Hopkins plays Robert Ford, Westworld's co-founder and Park Director.⁶⁾

Ramin Djawadi, who also worked with showrunner Nolan on Person of Interest, wrote the series' original soundtrack.⁷⁾

Westworld's ten-episode first season aired on October 2, 2016, in North America and Australia, and on October 4, 2016, in the United Kingdom and Ireland.⁸⁾
