Nomadic tribes began farming circa 10,000 B.C., during the First Agricultural Revolution. Furthermore, this is when the eight “founder crops” of agriculture first appeared: emmer wheat, einkorn wheat, hulled barley, peas, lentils, bitter vetch, chickpeas, and flaxseed.¹⁾
