Black apples exist! They are, in fact, very dark purple but, they are named Black Diamond. It is an extremely rare variety of apples from the Hua Niu family (Chinese Red Delicious). Black Diamonds grow in Tibet, in a small mountain village of Nyingchi. The reason for their original color is a difference in temperature between day and night. ¹⁾.
