Transamerica Pyramid

The Transamerica Pyramid in San Francisco was the headquarters of an insurance company. Although the tower is no longer the headquarters of Transamerica Corporation, it is still strongly associated with the company and appears in the company logo. In 1999, Transamerica's insurance company was acquired by Dutch rival Aegon. Later, Aegon sold off part of Transamerica's business to GE Capital but left the pyramid to itself. 3)

Samsung C&T Corporation

Samsung C&T Corporation (Construction and Trade) was established in 1938 and it is the oldest part of the Samsung group. Samsung C&T was the main contractor for three of the world's tallest buildings: Burj Khalifa, Petronas Twin Towers, and Taipei 101. 4)

Over 328 ft

Hong Kong recently lost its lead to Dubai in the number of tall towers (over 984 ft), but in the “over 328 ft” category its lead is undisputed. Hong Kong has more than 2,300 such buildings, compared to less than 800 in the next highest, New York. 5)
