Lorm alphabet

The Lorm alphabet is an alphabet for deaf-blind people created by Jerome Lorm in the 19th century. It is based on drawing lines or dots on the palm of the hand of another person. It is very simple and quick to learn, so even people who are completely deaf-blind can communicate effectively. 1)

Fuþork

Fuþork is a runic alphabet derived from the Old English fuþark, adapted for Old English. 2)

Ligatures

A font that consists of at least two letters in one “spot” is a ligature. Ligatures have a centuries-old tradition in writing and were commonly used in books transcribed by hand. With the dawn of the printing age in Europe, there was a gradual move away from ligatures. However, in some languages, the use of ligatures is required by their orthography. In Poland, with the introduction of standard typesetting and later computerized typesetting, the tradition of ligatures has practically disappeared. 3)
